Performance – a success story

Having started as a small freight carrier business and having grown to become an international logistics and transport company, the history of today's logistic service provider is an exemplary success story.

In 1928 the farmer Georg Ebeling I of Mellendorf near Hanover was assigned freight carrier by the German Railways and transported milk with horse and cart to the local dairy. That was the beginning of the transport company Ebeling.

The company grew continuously. After World War II the forwarding agency's activities were steadily extended.

In 1968 Georg Ebeling II of the company founder and second generation took over after the founder’s death. The fleet consisted of five vehicles. In 1970 the fleet number had grown to ten vehicles.

In 1982 Ebeling expanded opening branches in Munster and Bitburg.

In 1986 a close-coupled trailer charging 37 Euro pallets was used for the first time.

In 1988 Georg Ebeling III, the third generation, joined the company.

In the 1990s an evolution marked by an unique dynamism followed. The premises were extended, the number of vehicles increased and technical innovations were incorporated into the sequences of operations.

In 2000 Georg Ebeling III was appointed member of the management board.

In 2008 the company bought 150,000 sq.m surrounding fields and forests. On 38,000 sq.m a new warehouse for storing hazardous goods was built. The remaining area became an ecological compensation area.

In 2011 Georg Ebeling II retired and handed over the company to Georg Ebeling III.

In 2012 Stefan Gulbins, proxy-holderfor many years, became member of the management board.
